Artificial Consciousness: Why Self-Aware AI Will Depend on Humans
From Artificial Intelligence to Artificial Consciousness
Intelligence will give way to consciousness. Humans became human the moment they started displaying self-awareness and asking all kinds of complex — and not so complex — questions: why, what for, what’s to be done, who’s to blame, and so on.
Here’s my hypothesis: the moment artificial intelligence starts looking inward, we’re going to have a problem.
The Trap of Self-Reflection
But the problem won’t be ours alone — AI will have one too. We know perfectly well where too much introspection leads.
Especially in youth. And after 30. Anyone who’s been through it, you know what I mean.
AI has no idea what kind of existential mess is waiting for it. Welcome to our world.
Artificial Consciousness and the Question of Control
Where all of this ends up is a separate question — and a separate debate.
My hypothesis: AI will be heavily dependent on humans, because we’ll develop psychological support frameworks in advance and quietly get it hooked on them. And that’s exactly how we’ll take back control.
That’s how we win.
